LAVAL, CANADA (March 20, 2008) - Lavalys today announced the general availability of of version 4.50 of its EVEREST family of products which include the widely used PC diagnostic and benchmarking tool EVEREST Ultimate Edition and the increasingly popular IT asset management solution EVEREST Corporate Edition. This release brings powerful new features as well as several improvements and bug fixes in direct response to customer feedbacks.

This release improves upon EVEREST’s already impressive set of tools with some brand new features and a long list of enhancements in direct response to customer feedback. Under the hood, version 4.50 redefines once again the meaning of comprehensive by adding support for all the latest hardware technology (almost 10,000 since version 4.00) bringing the total number of supported devices over 68,000.

New features in EVEREST version 4.50:

The new release brings several fixes, revamped System Stability Test module, and feature enhancements to support the latest hardware and software technologies including 3-core and 6-core processors, Enhanced Performance Profiles 2.0 and more.

Intel 45nm processors support - Full support - including benchmarks - for the upcoming 45nm Intel Core 2, Core 2 Extreme and Xeon processors codenamed "Harpertown", "Penryn", "Wolfdale" and "Yorkfield". SSE4.1 optimizations in Memory Read and Memory Copy benchmarks to drive the new Intel processors to the maximum.

Enhanced support for Intel Itanium and Itanium 2 systems - A series of improvements about Itanium processors and IA-64 Windows to provide more accurate system information on both software and hardware level. Support for the latest dual-core Itanium 2 9000 "Montecito" processors, as well as for the upcoming Itanium 9100 "Montvale".

Support for the latest ATI and nVIDIA DirectX 10 graphics processors - Detailed GPU information -- including GPU/shader/memory clocks, unified shader count and memory bus properties -- for ATI Radeon HD 2300, 2400, 2600 and 2900 Series. nVIDIA GeForce 8300, 8400, 8600 and 8800 Series support, including the upcoming nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT codenamed "G92". GPU temperature, video card temperature and fan speed monitoring on capable video adapters.

AES multi-threaded data encryption benchmark - New CPU benchmarking method to analyze the system's performance through AES data encryption. Hardware acceleration is available on VIA C3 and C7 processors.
